About FaxRadar

We sign up for the fax services so you don't have to

Online fax is a small, noisy market full of near-identical websites and inflated claims. FaxRadar is the independent team that actually pays for these services, sends real faxes, and writes down what happened β€” in plain language, with the marketing stripped out.

Why FaxRadar exists

Almost nobody has time to create ten accounts, send ten test faxes, and read ten privacy policies just to email a signed PDF to a bank. We did β€” so you can skip to the answer.

Most "best online fax" lists are written by people who never opened the products, and they tend to rank whichever service pays the biggest commission. We do it the other way around: we test first, rank second, and we're happy to tell you when the cheapest option β€” or a free one β€” is the right call. If a service's compliance claim doesn't hold up, we say so. If a "$12.49" plan is actually send-only and you really need the $24.99 tier, we say that too.

What we actually do

No press accounts, no vendor-supplied copy, no guesswork on pricing.

We test with our own money

We subscribe like a normal customer, send and receive faxes to several countries, use the mobile apps daily, and message support to see how fast they really reply.

We verify every price

Each price is checked on the provider's own website and re-checked every month. When a plan changes, the review and the comparison tables change with it.

We pressure-test the claims

"HIPAA compliant" and "bank-grade security" get checked against published audits and signed BAAs. Self-attested badges are flagged as exactly that.

How we score a service

Every rating is a weighted average of six things we measure the same way for everyone.

Our testing routine

  • Sign up with a real, paid account β€” no partnerships or press access
  • Send and receive faxes across multiple countries
  • Use the iOS and Android apps for everyday tasks
  • Contact support and time the response
  • Verify prices and compliance directly on the provider's site

The scoring grid

  • Interface β€” 25% Β· how quick it is to actually send a fax
  • Features β€” 20% Β· receiving, e-sign, integrations, API
  • Value for money β€” 20% Β· pages per dollar, overage rates
  • Support β€” 15% Β· channels, speed, and whether a human answers
  • Security β€” 10% Β· encryption, audits, HIPAA/BAA
  • Coverage β€” 10% Β· countries you can send to and receive from

How we make money (and why it doesn't bend our reviews)

FaxRadar is free to read because some of the "Try" buttons are affiliate links: if you sign up through one, the provider may pay us a commission at no extra cost to you. That keeps the lights on.

It does not buy a ranking, a score, or a kinder verdict. Our current #1 isn't the highest-paying program, several services we recommend pay us nothing, and we send readers to free options and the cheapest plans on purpose. If money ever conflicted with the honest answer, the honest answer wins β€” that's the whole point of the site.

How it started

FaxRadar began in 2025 as a spreadsheet. One of us needed to fax a signed contract, went looking for "the best online fax service," and found a wall of look-alike sites that all happened to recommend whatever paid them most. Annoyed, we just signed up for everything and tested it properly.

The spreadsheet turned into a website, and then into five β€” we now publish the same independent reviews in English, French, German, Spanish and Japanese, because faxing is stubbornly global and most guides only cover the US.

Who's behind it

We're a small, independent editorial team β€” the same people who create the accounts, run the tests, write the reviews, and keep the prices current across all five languages. We're not a faceless content farm, and we're definitely not the fax companies' marketing department. Found a price that's out of date or a claim we got wrong? Tell us and we'll fix it.
