How FaxRadar works
Answers about sending, paying and refunds.
Send a fax in five steps
- 01 Upload your document
PDF, PNG or JPEG, up to 20 pages and 4 MB per fax. Several files become one fax. Add a cover page if you need one.
- 02 Enter the destination
Pick the country and type the landline fax number. It is checked before you can pay.
- 03 Review the price
The first page, then each further page at a lower price for that country, with the refund rule right beside it.
- 04 Pay by card
One card payment, on Stripe's form right in the page.
- 05 Your fax is sent
As soon as the payment is confirmed. Follow it on its status page until it's delivered.
Sending
How does it work?
Upload your document, enter the fax number and pay. We start sending as soon as the payment is confirmed, and the status page shows when the fax arrives. You can close the page once you have paid.
Which files can I send?
PDF, PNG and JPEG files. Several files are combined into one fax, in the order you choose. FaxRadar accepts up to 20 pages and 4 MB per fax, all files together. Password-protected PDFs can't be sent.
Which numbers can I fax?
Landline fax numbers in the countries on the pricing page. Mobile, pager and voicemail numbers can't receive faxes, and premium-rate, shared-cost and personal numbers charge the caller extra. All of these are refused before you pay.
Paying
How much does it cost?
A price for the first page and a lower one for each further page, both depending on the destination. They are shown on the pricing page and again before you pay. All prices are in USD.
When am I charged?
When you confirm the payment, after seeing the exact total. There is no subscription, so nothing is charged later.
Do I get a receipt?
Yes, if you give your email address before paying: our payment processor sends the receipt.
Do I need an account?
No. Each fax is paid on its own, and its status page is reached through its private link.
Status and delivery
How do I check a fax later?
Keep the status page’s link after paying. It’s the only way back to the fax, and anyone with the link can see its status.
When is a fax delivered?
When the recipient's fax machine confirms receipt, as reported by our carrier. What happens to the fax after that (printing, reading, internal routing) is outside FaxRadar's control.
What does each status mean?
Waiting for payment: the payment is not confirmed yet. Sending: the payment is confirmed and the fax is on its way. Delivered: the recipient's fax machine confirmed receipt. Failed · refund in progress: the fax could not be delivered and the refund is under way. Refunded: the refund has been made. Not sent: the fax was never paid for, so nothing was sent or charged.
Refunds and privacy
What if the fax fails?
If your fax fails to send, you will be refunded the amount minus a non-refundable fee of $0.30 + 2.9%. If our carrier never accepted the fax for sending, the fax counts as never attempted and you get a full refund. The refund goes back to your payment method automatically.
What if I entered the wrong number?
A fax delivered to someone else because the number entered was wrong counts as delivered and is not refunded. FaxRadar checks that a number can receive faxes, not who it belongs to, so check it before you pay.
Do you keep my document?
Only to send it. It is deleted as soon as the fax is delivered or fails, and never kept longer than 24 hours. The fax number is removed 30 days after the fax is finished.
Common problems
My number is refused
Check that the number is complete and that the country you chose matches it. FaxRadar only sends to landline fax numbers in the countries on the pricing page: mobile, premium-rate and other special numbers are refused, as are numbers that belong to no country, such as +800.
My file is refused
FaxRadar accepts PDF, PNG and JPEG files, up to 20 pages and 4 MB per fax, all files together. A scanned document can reach that size well before the page limit. Password-protected PDFs are refused.
The fax failed
Each fax is sent once and is not resent automatically. If the line was busy, nobody answered or the number was not a fax machine, you're refunded the amount minus the fee of $0.30 + 2.9%, and you can place a new order.
The status hasn't changed
Occasionally the outcome of a transmission is not confirmed straight away. We never resend the fax automatically, so the recipient never gets it twice: we check the outcome with our carrier. If the status doesn't change, email us with the reference shown on the status page.
